We lost our dear friend Jane on August 5, 2012. Our condolences to her husband Bob and the Peck family. “She saw the glass half full. Her smile and laugh were contagious.”
Jane touched many of us in her 25 years of service to the Hendersonville Kennel Club. For years, she served as Obedience Chairman for the HKC Shows held in Greenville, SC. Jane was Show Chairman at our July 31, 2011 show.
Mrs. Peck served in various capacities on the HKC Board of Directors. She facilitated the Poster Contest for the elementary schools and conducted Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing for the AKC.
Twenty years ago, Jane founded the “Paws for Love” therapy dog program in HendersonCountyand was its director for many years. She served as a tester/observer for Therapy Dogs Incorporated until recently.
Jane was a member of the Sandlapper Golden Retriever Club and the Obedience Club of Asheville. She organized, developed patterns and trained OCA participants to march in the Hendersonville Christmas Parade numerous times. Jane was very active in Foothills Golden Retriever Rescue. She showed in the breed ring as well as in obedience, trained, hunted and rescued her beloved “Goldens”.
